British designer/silversmith Victoria Delaney introduced a brass version of her classic-meets-contemporary CandleStacks at the London Design Festival last week. A modern take on the sort of candlestick one might find on a table in New England, Delaney lines the spindles of her creations with interchangeable, lacquered timber shapes reminiscent of the beads on an abacus. If monochromatic is not your thing, Delaney also lines the brass with tactile wooden shapes in primary hues, which she intermingles with pieces in natural finishes. The top and base are fabricated from soldered spun metal components
