Kenny is a new roundy curvy armchair made out of folded simple strip by Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay of Raw Edges for Moroso . Using a simple pattern and a single linear strip of fabric, they created a volumetric shape that becomes like a cocoon in which you sit.

A-Lounge is a design I didn’t think I needed until I saw it. I used to love to sit on the floor when I was younger, but now, it’s just harder to get comfortable.

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to share this post with you. I love finding new little tricks and programs that help ease through the creative process, and Sherwin-Williams’ Chip It! is one of them. Lately I’ve been looking to inject a little color into my home, but wasn’t sure in what direction I should go. I knew I wanted to paint this dark, weighty bookcase to lighten up a drab corner of my house – it’s a nice piece, but not helping my situation. From there, I needed a little help.

Last week, a friend and I went to a local furniture store that was holding a bridal event. We were given a bundle of free gifts and a tour of the store. When we got to the part with memory foam mattresses, I expressed my apprehension for these mattresses. Are they too soft? Isn’t it strange to have a mattress that’s so foamy?
Well, my friend has one in her bedroom and she was quick to correct my uncertainty. She said her memory foam mattress is by far the most comfortable mattress she’s ever had and her nights of sleep have been noticeably improved. Still feeling a bit unconvinced, I walked around the store and tested out some of these mattresses.
Needless to say, I’m now hooked. All I have to do is convince my fiance that we absolutely need one of these mattresses and I’m golden. But which one will I choose? I’m thinking one of these double memory foam mattresses is my future – double is always better!
What do you think about memory foam mattresses? Do you have one?

Gabriel Scott , newcomers at last year’s ICFF , will introduce some new products this year including a fantastic modular light fixture called Welles. Segment Table is a minimalist design created by San Francisco-based design firm Box Clever . The conception of their name came from the term “boxing clever,” a reference to how the best boxers win not only with their brawn, but with their wits as well. As designers they take a similar approach: to identify opportunities, learn from and respond to any challenges that arise, and execute flawlessly. Segment Table comes pre-designed with channels built into the surface in order to accommodate wiring and functional accessories. The table’s surface, which is constructed of multiple parts, was inspired by the ever-shifting tectonic plates sitting underneath San Francisco.

As a kid, I would have died for anything purple. It was my absolute favorite. All I wanted when I started driving was a “shiny purple” Dodge Neon. By the time I got my license, I was cheating on purple with pink.
But lately, I’m turning back to my old trusted friend purple and taking note of it’s effect on modern home decor.
My personal favorite way to see purple is when its a plush bright purple that gives a pop to the room, as in the first image above. There are so many moods to purple, from dark to light and all that falls in between. It works just as well as an accent color as it does as the dominant color in a room. Maybe I’ll have to start cheating on my beloved pinks and turn back to purple….
What are your thoughts on purple in home decor?

If there was ever a piece of furniture that could get you in the mood for summer fun, it would be Juicy. Usually it’s a tropical smell or drink or food or piece of clothing, but today it’s Juicy.
Designed by Angelo Tomaiuolo Design, the product description states that “JUICY is a comfortable stackable colourful chair inspired by the freshly squeezing of fruit juice. It’s conceived in a great range of colours and finishing versions, gloss bicoloured recyclable polycarbonate, transparent coloured and mat, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.”
The model with the white exterior and orange interior reminds me of a creamsicle. I can just see myself lounging in one of these bright modern chairs by the pool sipping on a tropical and fruity drink of the same color scheme.
Can’t you see it? What do you think of these awesome chairs?
