We collaborated with MSN to profile four artists and designers we love who we think embody the same design, content and functional philosophies as the new MSN.com: design with fierce reductionism, sharing real-time trends, and being perfect for touch. We think you’ll love learning more about these four creatives. Experience their work below, and check out the all-new MSN here . I could not be more excited to talk to Aurelie Tu. Not only do I admire what she’s doing with Craftedsystems , but I can’t get enough of the gorgeous texture of her designs, patterns and wall panels. Her soft, textured vessels beg to be touched and played with rather than just looked at

In Milan, Poltrona Frau introduced the GranTorino upholstery collection designed by Jean-Marie Massaud . Inspired by the world of saddlery, this modular sofa includes a combination of fabric with sleek, hand-cut, hand-shaped Saddle Leather. The leather molds the lines and structure of the seat, including the upper part of the backrest as well as the armrests and sides. My favorite aspect of this series is the leather cover the folds over and is fastened with steel rivets. The large box-like structure actually opens up and acts as storage, and functions as a table or oversized armrest when closed

While searching for some gorgeous spaces today, I rounded some favorites and noticed the similar tone of blue in the two images. The deep color must be calling to me today!
None of these images have much in common, aside that they’re pretty places. They are each from a different room – one the bathroom, another from the kitchen, the third from a seating area and the fourth an open living room. Back to the blue, I was really in the mood for some bright white rooms today, but I felt like I’ve covered that before so I went for some color and unintentionally went for the blue and threw in some seafoam green.
Blue is a color I have a lot of in my house, but the seafoam green – not so much. However, I love it in that bathroom! How about you? Are you a seafoam green kind of person?

Hailing from Saint Petersburg, Russia, product designer Yaroslav Misonzhnikov launched a new table lamp named Ugol . Ugol means “corner” in Russian and that’s just what the design utilizes when it’s set up. The simple, wooden pole-like form slips onto the corner of your desk or table and stays put with the help of the rectangular opening on one end.

Happy Friday!! Hope you enjoy the first weekend in May.
Here’s this week’s Weekly Six:
1 – I had a similar salad last week in NYC made from shaved brussel sprouts, and similar to this recipe. It was absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to recreate it at home.
2 – Wouldn’t it be fun to wear a giant hat like this every once and a while?
3 – Beautiful and bright white dressing room. How about those flowers?
4 – Light up your porch with this awesome mat.
5 – Great use of small space with this shelf and painted console.
6 – What do you think of tissue paper flowers on display?
Have a great weekend!

April is over now, but we didn’t really get all that many showers, so maybe we’re due for lots of rain in May. reCOVER by Teracrea is a re-imagining of the typical coat stand into a miniature ecosystem. The base of the stand can be placed into any planter, so that your raincoats and drippy umbrellas can nourish the plant. What do you think of this design? Would you use it?
