Little Giant Chair by Signe Hytte

Signe Hytte just graduated from the Danish design school TEKO and is pursuing furniture design. Recently exhibited at Greenhouse in Stockholm, the Little Giant chair is a simple design with Japanese inspiration. Made of ash wood with a simple wool cushion, the chair does not try to hide its construction. According to the designer, the design itself is based on a tight and conceptual principle that stems from the Japanese Tatami patterns. I like how you can put the cushion over different areas, depending on how you’re using the chair

Naica Lamp by Daniel Debiasi & Federico Sandri for Ligne Roset

The duo Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri make up Something , a design partnership based in London and Verona, Italy, and their latest creation is a lamp called Naica for Ligne Roset . Inspired by those old carbide lanterns that were used by miners, the lamp is a bit cave-like itself with a hollowed out space that softly reflects the light. The ceramic fixture diffuses the light that way creating a soft, surrounding glow. The lamp is available in solid white or with a red-colored cavity, both with a textile-covered cable that doubles as the handle.

Chesterfield Beds

While I would love one day to own a Chesterfield Sofa, I think these Chesterfield Beds from Frank Hudson just trumped the sofas and made it to the top of my wish list.

Although I’m not usually a fan of red, this ruby red velvet is dramatic and lovely. But the caramel leather – how beautiful is that? With the deep tufts and the similar rounded edges that the Chesterfield sofas boasts, these beds would be a gorgeous addition to any modern bedroom.

The distressed leather bed can be for a more masculine bedroom, surrounded by dark dramatic woods. I’m picturing the red velvet bed as more feminine and traditional, and that chandelier is the perfect match. As for bedding, I wouldn’t use much design or color – these beds are enough on their own!

What do you think of these Chesterfield beds? How are you picturing them in a bedroom?
