Product Pick: Carr Bar Carts

My love for bar carts is no secret. But look at these babies. Forget love, let’s talk about obsession.

From Worlds Away, the Carr Bar Cart is available in your choice of either a silver leaf finish or a gold leaf finish. Both carts have fabulous circular mirror insets and glamorous mirrored shelves. And they’re both on wheels so you can take them along with you wherever you go. You know, like next to your bed while you sleep at night or into the bathroom with you when you shower. [Just kidding!]

Available at Clayton Gray Home, each of these carts retails for $1300. Time for this girl to start saving!

What do you think of these Carr Bar Carts? Just enough glam for entertaining?

These 360° table lamps by Magdalena Chojnacka / Studio Bongo Design are made from a single block of wood and a simple powder-coated rod. The name comes from the way that the head can rotate all the way around, allowing you to adjust the light to wherever you need it most.

Box Series (above) – new items include: 3 charcuterie boards, 2 fruit boxes, a serving tray, and cutlery box. Working Out

Are you good at working out? I’m terrible at it.

There’s an elliptical in my basement that gets used about once every two weeks. I go to bed almost every night with the intention of waking up early to get on it, but I take the extra time to sleep in instead. So, lately, I’ve been researching different workouts that have been popular, and trying to decide which I want to pursue. I’m getting married in less than three months, and that is my motivation to [finally] whip myself into better shape.

First, I started looking at Zumba, which I’ve always heard wonderful things about. Dancing workouts remind me of Jazzercise, but Zumba looks a lot less farty than that! Then, my mom mentioned the Bar Method. I have often read of celebrities taking interest in this workout, but had never looked into it. The Bar Method uses a ballet barre as the basis of its exercises to provide lean, tone muscles.

Both of these exercises offer DVDs and local classes, so you can start out with whichever makes you the most comfortable. Classes can often get expensive, so I love that both offer DVDs – it’s just getting up and doing them that’s the hard part!

Have you tried either of these workout regimes? Do you have any other workouts to recommend?

Mid-Century Meets Modern: Gidlööf Originals

Barcelona-based Gidlööf Originals is a furniture design company that was launched by architect studio Costacalsamiglia in 2012. They exhibited their extended collection at the Stockholm Furniture Fair . The name comes from the shop Gidlööf , which was opened in May of 2011 by architect Guim Costa and her partner Sofia Gidlööf in Barcelona. The shop sells mainly furniture from the 40s-60s, and you can see a lot of inspiration for these pieces from those eras.

Ombre Decor: Love this Look?

Ombre is everywhere. Not just in home decor, but in fashion and beauty as well. The ombre hairstyle has become extremely popular, as has the look been translated to jeans, dresses, t-shirts, nails – you name it. We can’t forget about in cooking as well – ombre cakes are all over Pinterest! And we can’t forget ombre flower arrangements as well.

But what about ombre in home decor? From walls and staircases to artwork and home accessories, the ombre effect has made its way to plenty of home decor elements. Personally, I don’t know if I can trust my skills enough to be able to recreate the effect perfectly, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to try, especially something like the art work above.

What do you think about ombre in home decor? Do you love this look or are you not much of a fan?

Mägi Bench & Log Lamp by Jari Nyman and Olli Mustikainen

A collaboration between Finnish designers, Jari Nyman and Olli Mustikainen , resulted in two noteworthy designs – the Mägi bench and the Log lamp. The Mägi combines seating and storage into a bench that mixes simplicity (bench seat) with irregularity (the base). The jagged base allows for open pockets of space to store essentials like magazines, books, or beer. For their Log lamp, the duo was inspired by a burning log with its glow emanating from a fireplace. Press the wood block down and it pops up to expose the light.
