Barcelona-based Gidlööf Originals is a furniture design company that was launched by architect studio Costacalsamiglia in 2012. They exhibited their extended collection at the Stockholm Furniture Fair . The name comes from the shop Gidlööf , which was opened in May of 2011 by architect Guim Costa and her partner Sofia Gidlööf in Barcelona. The shop sells mainly furniture from the 40s-60s, and you can see a lot of inspiration for these pieces from those eras.

Barcelona-based rug studio nanimarquina , founded in 1987 by Nani Marquina, has been creating contemporary textiles for the floor crafted in India, Morocco, Pakistan, and Spain. This month’s Deconstruction takes us to India, for the manufacture of one of the company’s most popular, and surely the most fun (polka dots in relief!): a fuchsia and purple concoction from the Topissimo collection, which won a Red Dot Design Award in 2003. Above: Nani Marquina with some of the women who manufactured the Topissimo Collection in the Indian workshops. The Topissimo Collection was designed by Nani Marquina in 2002. These are the first design sketches.

Martí Guixé has designed this Free Port cabinet for Spanish company BD Barcelona . Made of MDF that includes veneer of various types of wood with different lacquer finishes, the cabinet sits on aluminum and steel legs. I love that each storage section isn’t the same, meaning you can have this cabinet perform multiple uses such as an entertainment center, bookshelf and wine bar all in one. The BoulderPLATEs are custom designed appetizer plates for the El Celler de Can Roca in Spain.
Each boulder was hand selected by the designers from the Andreu Carulla Studio and Chef Jordi of El Celler de Can Roca.
The intent of implementing boulders within the design was to initiate a relationship between the restaurant guest and the surroundings. Each boulder is supported by a tripod base that is specifically designed to fit each boulder.
Andreu Carulla Studio, designer of the BoulderPLATE, is based in Spain, an hour outside of Barcelona.

The Fractal.MGX is a modern coffee table that represents the fractal growth patterns of trees.
The design of the Fractal.MGX is tree-like stems that grow into smaller branches, which eventually mold into each other to create the table top.
The Fractal.MGX is made as a single piece without any seams or joints. It is made using a stereo-lithography and epoxy resin.
Designed by Platform Studio and Matthias Bar, the Fractal.MGX is on display at the Metropolitan Musuem of New York and the Design Hub Barcelona.

Materials: Ikea SNÖVITA wreath, felt, scissors, glue
Description: I personalized the SNÖVITA wreath using stash of felt I had at home.
I made one with Saint Nicolausand another one with the 3 magic kings (a spanish tradition, on the 6th of January they come to every house and leave gifts and stuff).
It was a nice easy way to get a different Christmas wreath for less than 30$!
See more of the Christmas wreaths.
