Chances are if you live anywhere near a city you see those spiraled cables attached to electricity and telephone poles and they’re just what inspired Mariana Aguila to design a rocking seat called CFE . Those cables are the lifeline that provides every city with power, phone lines, and other resources and most of the time, we don’t even think about them. No doubt this design will have you looking at them differently in the future and actually taking notice. Made from three different sized powder-coated metal tubes that are joined together, the seat can be used flat or to rock back and forth on. Photos by Karla Agis and Mariana Aguila

Much cooler than the children’s toy with the same name (at least in my opinion…) this Jack In The Box is both a light fixture and a excellent companion for anyone with plenty of tech.
Made of bent steel, teak, cables, and sockets, the Jack In The Box is designed to accommodate today’s digital lifestyle. Looks cool, keeps your wires organized – what more could you ask for? More here.

If one product at ICFF really caught my eye for multi-functional use, it was the Ledge by Urbancase . This wall-hung piece can do duty as a TV stand, desk, media center, entryway table, or even a bookshelf. It has a drawer unit on the left, and a drop-down pull-out shelf on the right

Furniture Designer, Jennifer Newman has just launched the Slot Desk, made from powder-coated steel and aluminium, and produced as de-mountable flat-pack. A slot runs along the surface of the desk with a cable tray beneath it. This allows cables to be dropped through the slot and to emerge exactly where they’re needed – ensuring the working area is kept clear and free from an unsightly tangle of leads. Available in white, red, and gray. http://www.jennifernewman.com ©2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | 1 comment | Tweet This | Share on Facebook Furniture – Facebook – Design Milk – Steel – Aluminium
