Make Your Own Stool with TheStooler by Andreu Carulla Studio

TheStooler by Andreu Carulla Studio allows you to reuse just about any object and turn it into a stool. Consisting of four wooden legs with some adjustable ratchet buckles, you can create a comfortable place to sit with old newspapers, clothes, stuffed animals, a tree stump, a crate, just about whatever you can imagine… TheStooler will be exhibited at the Temporary Museum for New Design of SuperStudio during the this year’s Salone in Milan. Peg Lamp Inspired by a Clothespin by William McDonald

Inspired by the simple slip-on wooden clothes pin (or “peg”), Canadian designer William McDonald designed a lamp that functions in the same way. Called Peg Lamp , the lamp uses minimal materials like aluminum, wood and felt to create a simple sliding mechanism so the user can adjust the light as needed. Wardrobes

I need a new wardrobe. I wish that meant the kind of wardrobe that is the entire inventory of clothing. But what I need is the kind of wardrobe that will store all of those clothes! In my case, the wardrobe will be downstairs in the basement, and not a part of my decor in any of the bedrooms, but I wouldn’t mind if it was.

Whether colorful or just plain white, the wardrobes above look pretty sleek in their settings. Plus, they’re keeping everything organized so I think that attributes to their clean look. A major thing of wardrobes is having the space for them – its not like a closet that is built into the wall – so you have to make sure you have the extra room needed for one. In the last two images above, it appears that both rooms have two wardrobes arranged next to each other, which I think would be a nice look to take up a whole wall. This way, you don’t have a single wardrobe sticking out somewhere!

What do you think of wardrobes? Do you have one?

Svitato Clothes Hanger by Andrea Vecera

Svitato by Andrea Vecera for torino lab is a clothes hanger that looks something like an alien, or — to me — a holder for those popular oil incense sticks. The mold is made of cement and features nine threaded broomsticks plunged into its surface. Pick Up Wood

We have to think beyond recycling; why waste energy shaping wood when nature is already doing such a good job? Sold by sets of 8, these hanger hooks require you take a walk in a natural environment to complete the object with some fallen branches. The project was designed for the Brussels based non-profit organization Les Petits Riens , which provides social reinsertion via the collecting and selling of second-hand clothes and used furniture. http://www.alainberteau.com Related posts: ShopStyle Living Take Off Your Clothes Zilka Clothes Hangers ©2009 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | 1 comment Sponsored Topics: Recycling – Environment – Non-profit organization – Business – Waste Management
