I feel an instant connection with Savannah College of Art and Design , or SCAD, because were were both born in the same year: 1978. It was a good year. In just 33 short years, SCAD has been able to build a global network of design students, teachers and enthusiasts all pursuing the passion of design education. Hey, look! It’s Bradley Bowers ! I wanted to get a ground-level view of SCAD’s mission to be a student-centered institution focused on providing an exceptional education and preparing students for professional careers in design

Swedish designer Lisa Hilland is a graduate of Central St. Martin’s College of Art and Design who, after 10 years of studies and design, has founded her own studio. Her first collection, My Granddaughter’s Cabinet, focuses on quality craftsmanship. She envisions it as being like heirlooms, passed on from generation to generation. From the designer: I have chosen birch as my main material because of its lustrous and silky surface

Andrew Wagner is the editor-in-chief of ReadyMade magazine . Prior to coming to ReadyMade he was the editor-in-chief of American Craft magazine. Wagner was also the executive editor and founding managing editor of Dwell , where he helped push the boundaries of architecture and design journalism, garnering the publication the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) General Excellence Award in 2005
