Modern Hideaway Dressing Table

Materials: Vika Veine, Vika Lage, Sandby, low voltage downlights, mirror, plastic trays, Velcro strips Description: I really wanted a dressing table for all my girly things…but all the ones in the stores were very old fashioned! Recently married, all our furniture is pretty new and in a modern chocolate brown, so I wanted something to suit. Finally, after much Googling…I came up with this design. Infinity Bench

Andrew Williams and Tom Huang collaborated together on the design and construction of this Infinity bench , which explores the possibilities of bamboo strip construction. The two decided on the idea after building “The Comfort Girls,” a set of three cocktail tables built using the same techniques.

Varde counter drawer hacked by kitchen sink

Materials: varde counter, boholmen kitchen sink, atlant strainer, edsvik kitchen faucet Description: When we were designing our first kitchen, I wanted to avoid chipboard as much as possible and have something sturdy. That’s why we decided to chose Varde kitchen. On the other hand our kitchen room wasn’t too big, so we had to save the place. That’s why we replaced one drawer in Varde counter with kitchen sink.

The Foldable Udden Desk

Materials: UDDEN drawer unit, PAX BALLSTAD closer door, PERFEKT plinth, plus various bits and pieces. Screwdriver, Sandpaper, Saw etc. etc. Description: This might not be your typical hack that people can try themselves but I hope it will help inspire people to solve their own furniture problems. :) I've been making videoreviews of DVD box sets on youtube for a few years and always filmed my videos on a plain white table

Besta American Girl Sized Doll House/Toy Car Garage

Materials: Besta Shelf Unit, two Inreda Half Shelves, black and white checkered contact paper, self adhesive vinyl tiles (12inx12in from Home Depot – wood look for kitchen and tile look for bathroom), currogated cardboard (Save Besta box!) and ultra plush fabric for carpeted rooms (more plush than fleece), poster board and scrapbook paper (12inx12in) for walls, doll furniture (See Description for more details), utility knife, straight edge, rubber cement, spray adhesive, mounting squares, mini hooks, storage containers, metal wire saran wrap holder, plastic mirror sheet Description: This was designed for a small space in a room shared by my 4 year old girl and 2 year old boy. A-Z by Sascha Grewe

As part of the DMY 2011 Asia Exhibition tour , which presented innovative German design objects and products at seven different fairs and festivals in Asia, Sascha Grewe exhibited his A-Z stools / tables with storage. The A-Z stools are made of MDF and are available in — get this — 250 colors! The stools can be used as seats, side tables, shelves or simply as typographical objects. I don’t think I’m ready to see this alphabet furniture trend go just yet.

SleepBox

SleepBox is a contemporary and organic piece of furniture made from HI-MACS® material. Resembling a giant chaise lounge, the seat has an interior cutout with a leather cushion, which would make a great place to curl up and read a book or watch a movie. The project was designed by Caspar Lohner at the Chair for Computer Aided Architectural Design CAAD, Department of Architecture, ETH Zurich, supervised by Mathias Bernhard and Manuel Kretzer and produced in collaboration with Kläusler Acrylstein AG, the exclusive distributor for HI-MACS® in Switzerland. Music Producing Desk

Materials: VIKA AMON, VIKA CURRY, VIKA ANNEFORS, EKBY JARPEN, BILLY Description: I wanted to build a desk to produce music and still have enough space to work and do everyday stuff. In the beginning I planned to build everything on my own, but soon I realized that it must be cheaper and easier to combine some IKEA furniture. There were some requirements I had, that didn't make the selection that easy: – It should look awesome (of course) – It should match my existing furniture like a Malm bed
