Designer Xiral Segard exhibited her concrete Konkurïto vase during Paris Design Week earlier this month. The modular design was inspired by the Japanese bento box (minus the vegetables). Fabricated wholly in concrete, it consists of four modular stackable elements, plus a cover. You can stack them in whatever order you wish, and place the water reservoir at either the top or bottom, depending on the size of your bouquet.

Now in its second year and supported by the Society for British Interior Design , Tramshed is a boutique selection of interior products in a pop-up style location. Here are the highlights… Right by the entrance and getting things started on the right note were these wonderfully tactile ceramics from Karen Morgan . I love the juxtaposition between their soft pliable appearance and the actual nature of the material. Next up, Benjamin Hubert ‘s pod, which is variously describes as “a large privacy chair” and a “little room in room solution.” Either way, it looks like a great place to curl up with a book and hide away from the world. Following the success of the Martini Cocktail set, which was commissioned by Wallpaper* magazine and acquired for the V&A ’s permanent collection, Miranda Watkins has now launched Gleam Bar, the full barware collection

Pop-up shops are popping up all over London Design Festival ; here are three of this year’s best pop-up shops: Design and architecture magazine Dezeen have created Dezeen Space and taken up residence at 54 Rivington Street for a month (September 17-October 16) and during the Frieze Art Fair . Dezeen describes the space as “a multi-functional, experimental space, hosting a pop-up gallery, store, video studio and micro-event space.” Together with launching their first book, Dezeen Book of Ideas , will be handing over a 1m x 1m exhibition space to a different designer each day and documenting the work on show using a combination of photography, video and audio. Samuel Wilkinson’s Plumen lights Dominic Wilcox ’s Watch Sweeper Theo & Friends have popped-up at 65 Monmouth Street in Covent Garden, where they’ll be from September 16th-25th. Theo is the online design shop of Thorsten van Elten (Theo is Thorsten’s middle name), which he describes as his “little brother / alter ego.” “& Friends” include Rob Brandt, Daniel Emma, Kathleen Hills, Donna Wilson and Very Good and Proper. Donna Wilson cushions And finally, Today’s Specials , a market stall with the aim of supporting up-and-coming designers proves a retail space with low overheads for their products.

Stepping into Shoreditch’s Lifestyle Bazaar is always a treat, but for the London Design Festival , they’ve commissioned something extra special. Kelly McCallum has taken the ibride Junior Bookcase and turned it into a modern day curiosity cabinet. At first playful and innocent, when you peer closer, the darker side of Kelly’s work reveals itself. It’s this constant juxtaposition between sweet and sinister that makes this piece so compelling.

Note Design Studio has a new stool called Boet, which means Nest in Swedish. The stool is inspired by birds’ nests: elevated, protected yet soft homes supported by strong tree trunks and branches. The contrasting materials dynamically create a dialogue between the two functions of sitting and support. The base is constructed of metal, while the seat is of a soft cork. The goal was to create a sitting surface that felt much like a nest – like home.
