Innovative Mirrors That Improve Your Posture by Miior

I don’t know how your bathroom is set up but my mirror seems to be a million miles away from me and I have to contort and get up on my tippy-toes just to look closely at my face. I actually have to go and use another mirror to put on mascara… I find it to be very frustrating, and I’m sure, ladies, I’m not alone, right?

A Lamp Made of Chocolate: La Lumiére au Chocolat by Alexander Lervik

During Stockholm Design Week, I was lucky enough to meet Alexander Lervik at the unveiling of his “chocolate lamp” at the Lightworks exhibition sponsored by Belid , at Galleri Kleerup Jacobs . He began the design process by exploring the possibility of creating a contrast to light, i.e., darkness – he wanted to create a light that didn’t give out any light at all. La lumiére au chocolat is in fact completely dark when you first turn it on. It’s only when the heat from the lamp starts to melt the chocolate that the light starts to shine through

TATA Lamp by cbdisegno

Italian architect Claudia Bignoli designs under the name cbdisegno when hashing out her furniture designs. Designing furniture happens to be her true passion and her knowledge of shapes, volumes, and materials aids her in achieving that, like with her TATA lamp. Laser cut from a single sheet of Plexiglas, the rectangular rings are then fanned out from its original two-dimensional state to the three-dimensional form of the lamp. Dent Chair by o4i Design Studio for Blå Station

Stockholm-based o4i Design Studio set out to push the boundaries of what is beautiful in design and chose to create the perfectly imperfect Dent Chair for Blå Station . Dent Stack The o4i crew wanted to challenge themselves and to accomplish the impossible by achieving the desired “dented” effect via a molding technique. The crinkled 3D surface is made from compression molded ash wood veneer and not a typically used 3D veneer, which is much easier but very expensive. Dent NoStack So what could be your average multi-purpose chair becomes a comfortable chair with unique texture, kind of like a piece of crumpled up paper. The Dent Chair is available in various finishes and leg bases, and comes as either a stackable or non-stackable  version

Ghost Chairs: Love This Look?

The Ghost Chair can be a pretty ubiquitous item, but that doesn’t really bother me. When I think about it, the places I see it the most are online, and not as much in person. [Maybe I'm not getting out enough!]

What I love most about the Ghost Chair is it’s versatility. It looks just as great alone in an office as it does as a pair in a living room or as dining chairs at a wedding. I even saw one image on Pinterest that was of a wedding ceremony that used Ghost Chairs. What I wouldn’t give for a wedding like that!

To me, the Ghost Chair is chic, can be glamorous, it’s timeless and as I said above, versatile. These Ghost Chairs I found at Lakeland Furniture are available in a huge variety of colors, which adds even more diversity and fun to the equation!

I think it’s pretty clear that I love the look of Ghost Chairs – but what about you – do you love this look? What is your favorite arrangement of these modern chairs?
