German design group Voxel Studio created SUESSLICHT , a pendant lamp made of sugar. Each shade is formed in a cone-like shape that resembles a sugarloaf, which is the original form that refined sugar was produced and sold. Partnered with simple hardware and primary colored, textile-covered cords, these lights are pretty sweet (sorry, I couldn’t resist). The shades are made when sugar crystals are mixed with a water base, then pressed and dried, forming the thin, crystalline shell

Benchchair from German designer Thomas Schnur for Outdoorz Gallery takes its inspiration from the famous Monobloc Chair but puts a new spin on it. The chair’s silhouette is stretched, elongating it into an almost abstract shape. What was once a chair, is now a bench. I love how it feels like a chair on one side and an abstract sculpture on the other. Share This: Twitter | Facebook | Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook

Scale Living is a collection of free-form carpet tiles from the German company Vorwerk Carpet and designer Hadi Teherani . MESH_S (also in the top photo) The collection includes three shapes – CUT, BLOOM, and MESH_S. Besides coming in these clever shapes, they also come in leather and a brushed stainless steel finish (yes, you heard me right!), as well as a multitude of colors. So not only do you get to choose the shape, material, and color, you also get to choose a pattern and how you want to arrange them.

Student Sonja Rogova designed this architectural tray in collaboration with the German company Raumgestalt . By investigating a conventional tray’s given criteria — four walls, two handles, flat ground — Sonja found inspiration in architectural models. By adding the stepped platform, she is able to give your food or drink some breathing room. German designer Florian Kallus plays tricks with our minds by creating this ash wood stool that wants to look something it’s not: a lamp. If that’s not enough, it can also function as a coffee table if the user chooses. http://www.floriankallus.de
