Rolf Sachs: in-pulse!

Inspired by the motion and sound of breathing and the beating of the human heart, Rolf Sach’s recent installation at Studio Visconti in Milan focuses on the primary physiological mechanisms of the human body. Sachs created sculptural furniture and lighting pieces that have been infused with human emotions and attributes, creating a collection of unique and individually crafted objects that can form part of your everyday environment and will continually surprise and awaken the viewers’ senses. Piana Chair

During Salone , Alessi will be presenting in Via Manzoni, the heart of Milan, a new project by English architect David Chipperfield. The Piana chair is a new type of product for the Crusinallo-based company — it’s a folding chair produced under license with Parma-based company Lamm. Piana is made from polypropylene reinforced with fibreglass with A.U.V. additives and matte, anti-slip surfaces. Produced in six different colors, the seat has a synchronized opening and closing system that rotates about a single point.
