Recent furniture and product design graduate Edward Taylor studied the way in which people store their clothing and created The Show-off . The Show-off is a clothing storage unit that features an attached tree-like stand to hold garments and accessories that you might want to show off and a closed storage area for the less preferred items. The piece is made from oak, walnut, laminate and ply, and would provide great storage in the bedroom or by the front door. The Show-off was exhibited at Designersblock London in September 2011. Designed by Seppo Koho for Secto Design, the Octo 4240 is a modern, eco-friendly pendant lamp.
The Octo pendants are made from PEFC-certified Finnish birch, cut into slats that are connected by rings of plywood.
Each Octo pendant is 68 cm high, with a diameter of 54 cm. Octo is available in natural birch, black laminate or white laminate. The black has a matching black cord and both the white and birch have a white cord.
To continue with the eco-friendly aspect of the Octo, energy-saving light bulbs are recommended.

Materials: Besta, Varna, Stolmen components Description: This is the first in a series of sculpture/furniture pieces that are based on the architecture of Walter Gropius, the founder of the Bauhaus. Specifically, I am making IKEA models of all eight mid-century Modern Gropius buildings that are currently being demolished by the City of Chicago. This piece is based on the 1953 Power Plant (pix, right).
