During Salone , Alessi will be presenting in Via Manzoni, the heart of Milan, a new project by English architect David Chipperfield. The Piana chair is a new type of product for the Crusinallo-based company — it’s a folding chair produced under license with Parma-based company Lamm. Piana is made from polypropylene reinforced with fibreglass with A.U.V. additives and matte, anti-slip surfaces. Produced in six different colors, the seat has a synchronized opening and closing system that rotates about a single point.

Luca Gnizio is an industrial designer from Milan who firmly believes that the life of discarded products can be further extended by transforming them into beautiful and useful articles. Luca’s BOOKFOR Armchair is constructed entirely from recycled materials including iron bars recovered from reinforced concrete, rubber tips from old walking sticks, and clothing, plastic material and paper remnants. Hidden Art is giving five independent UK designers the opportunity to launch new products and prototypes during the Milan Furniture Fair. Their stand at SaloneSatellite will feature this beautiful Patternity Phase Bureau, which I am currently wishing was also going to be on display at ICFF. This is just the rendering, but isn’t it ravishing?
