Beautiful Wooden Kitchen Accessories: OnOurTable 2013 Collection

When Canadian designer Geoffrey Lilge took on the task of tricking out his wife’s new restaurant, he found himself obsessed with finding the perfect cutting and charcuterie boards. This led to selling the restaurant and starting OnOurTable , a beautiful collection of kitchen and dining room objects handcrafted from solid wood. Box Series (above) – new items include: 3 charcuterie boards, 2 fruit boxes, a serving tray, and cutlery box. Crafted from hand-finished solid walnut, the collection aims to strip down each product to simply their essential forms

Handmade Laser Cut Wooden Lampshades

Min-jon is an Etsy shop that makes handmade, laser-cut wooden lampshades. Essentially, there are two lampshade: the inner shell made of cloth and an outer shell made of real oak wood. Pretty cool! The shop is run by Nadine Fliegen and Andrea Steckner, who hail from Germany. You can swap out the inner shade to change up the look, too.

Sponge Vase: InVaso by Stefano Claudio Bison

InVaso is one interesting looking vase because it’s made out of sponge, the same type of sponge you use to wash your car. Sponges are meant to hold water, which is one of the necessary factors to keep plants alive. Realized by industrial designer Stefano Claudio Bison , this container or vase is holding soil and plants, which contain other elements like mineral salts. So essentially what you have is a container of plants and soil that in turn are containers themselves of minerals and other elements. They resemble clay pots that you see everywhere but in fun, vibrant colors.

Vaulted Ceilings: Would You Rather?

Lately all I want in my home is vaulted ceilings. I’ve been stalking homes for sale and will only keep scrolling through the pictures if I see either a kitchen or a bedroom with high, vaulted ceilings. It really makes such a difference in a room when the ceilings are higher than normal – and there are so many different styles you can implement – with lighting and paint colors and molding. And skylights to add even more light and openness.

If I could have a house with super high ceilings in the kitchen AND in the bedroom, it would be heaven. My absolute dream home. But then I thought, which would I rather? Because most likely, I’m not going to be able to have both! I have to say, I think if it came down to it – I’d go for the bedroom. Even though more time is spent in the kitchen than in the bedroom, there’s just something more exciting about a master suite with high ceilings in comparison to one without.

But a open, vaulted kitchen would be excellent for entertaining….

What are your thoughts? If you had to choose between a master bedroom with high ceilings or a kitchen, which would you rather?

Innovative Mirrors That Improve Your Posture by Miior

I don’t know how your bathroom is set up but my mirror seems to be a million miles away from me and I have to contort and get up on my tippy-toes just to look closely at my face. I actually have to go and use another mirror to put on mascara… I find it to be very frustrating, and I’m sure, ladies, I’m not alone, right?
