Interior Ideas: 12 Colorful Doors on the Inside

Photo by Lori Andrews A few weeks ago, I rounded up inspiration to up your curb appeal with 12 Brightly Colored Front Doors . Today, we’re thinking that the color should come right on in. Here are 12 examples of bold doorways throughout the house, from inside the front door to the bedroom in shades of chartreuse, tomato red, cobalt, and even hot pink. Lori Andrews , a Calgary-based interior designer and photographer, who is also known on Flickr as  The 10 Cent Designer , features a crisp red door with textured glass and a long chrome pull in her own sleek kitchen.

Curtain Over Bed: Love This Look?

I came across this photo the other night and keep going back to it. I can’t decide whether I love the curtain displayed over the bed or not. I like that it becomes the focal point of the room and is a bit of a surprise – but I think I would remove the mirror.

Also, the rest of the bedroom is done in a more modern design, so I’m not sure the curtain fits in with the flow. But again like I said – I keep pulling this image up to study it and determine what it is, so I figured I’d bring it here.

So – what do you think of this modern bedroom with the curtain over the bed? Do you love this look?

$10 MALM facelift, huge impact

Materials: MALM four drawer unit, spray adhesive, inexpense engineer print, digital photo Description: I wanted to customize my boring MALM dresser and after searching for inspiration I found only fabric, wallpaper and wood trims being applied to the dresser fronts. I decided, as a photographer/mom who loves her kids’ faces/decorator obsessed with OVERSIZEness, that I should go with a photo. I knew that you could get super cheap larger than life black and whites at your local copy shop (staples, office depot)

Green Goodness

via Decorpad

Oh my green goodness!

I love this shade of green and the way it covers the entire room and overflows into the ceiling. The bright furniture and canopy bed with curtains adds to its beauty.

What do you think of this room? Would you replicate the look – perhaps with a different color?

Everybody has personal taste and color preferences. I’d recommend to hire an interior designer for your room. And don’t forget about curtains!

The Whole Story by Debra Folz

Debra Folz sent me over a link to her new project, The Whole Story, a series of photo albums that expand out to share the entire photographic “story.” A reinforced front and back cover act as a stand so your precious memories don’t get lost among the other books. She says of the project: “Photographs today are stored and accessed digitally, and viewed one frame at a time. These photo albums were designed to fall off the shelf and land in your life, living amongst you the way the memories do, in-between the spaces of everyday, yesterday, and tomorrow.” Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook ! © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Art , Home Furnishings , Style & Fashion | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook

Private Cloud by Manuel Kloker

I took a photo of the Private Cloud by Manuel Kloker on the floor of ICFF, and as I stood there, I watched the crowd. It was funny to see the attendees get in and out of it, rock it, and talk about it. There was much more crowd discussion about “doing the nasty” and how that would work rather than the actual design of the product. The wow factor of this product is certainly there. But, in reality, you can place blocks to stabilize the bed just like a regular bed.
