Materials: Expedit Shelf (1×5), some wood and plastic milk-glass Description: I’ve build a custom IKEA Expedit TV Rack. For perfect fit of my electronic components. I’ve modified the shelf with custom board arrangement. The wall mounts of the Expedit were not strong enough to hold it at the wall. But a wooden piece which I painted white would hold it from the bottom side

Patrick Carmody and Kfir Shetrit of OCD Furniture , located in Minnesota, have created a puzzle of a table. The Mudo Table was born from the idea to make a crafted table using as little waste as possible. Made of masonite with a plastic laminate on both sides, the pieces were nested as closely together as possible and then cut out with a CNC router. The pieces fit together with a notch and overall build a nice-looking table base for a glass top

Fifty years ago, Verner Panton designed the first single mold plastic chair with a curvaceous profile called the Panton chair. Since then it has become one of the most recognizable and classic designs to date. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic design, Vitra UK held a design competition among its clients to customize a Panton chair. The only criteria was that the finished product must be movable by one man.

Heather Lins ( who we wrote about before ) has a new collection of eco-friendly pillows that are based on well-known scientific diagrams. The Science Project Collection is rendered in eco-friendly materials: 100% wool background with Sensuede applique. Sensuede is like ultra-suede but made out of recycled plastic bottles. Each pillow’s title is based on the diagram’s scientific discipline: Anatomy, Geology or Botany. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Catrina in Home Furnishings | Permalink | 2 comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook More Milk: Art Milk | Dog Milk

Burojet has taken plastic bags filled with air and created lamps out of them. Each is closed with a tie, the bottom cut out and the rim of the bottom taped with aluminum or plastic tape to shape the lamp any way you want. With the introduction of an LED light, the bags become a light fixture. ©2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook Light fixture – Facebook – Light-emitting diode – Plastic bag – Plastic
