Materials: RETUR Recycling bins, Lack Shelf, Wall Anchors, Screws, Cordless Drill, Table or Circular Saw, Spray Paint Description: I soooooo hate folding clothes. I used to have two piles of clothes on the floor, one for dirty clothes and one for clean. I wanted to create something that didn’t take up any valuable floor space. While visiting IKEA I had an inspiration. Using the two different sizes of IKEA Recycle Bins ( this and this ) and a Lack Shelf I was able to come up with a nice contemporary looking wall dresser.

Tenenbaum Hazan created a chair out of a most unexpected material: old roller blinds. The TRIS chair is made from plastic roller blinds that, according to the designers, in Israel have no economical profitability in its recycling processes, as they’re now being replaced with aluminum roller blinds. To preserve and reuse the materials, they’ve designed a closed wooden structure in which the blinds are held.

We have to think beyond recycling; why waste energy shaping wood when nature is already doing such a good job? Sold by sets of 8, these hanger hooks require you take a walk in a natural environment to complete the object with some fallen branches. The project was designed for the Brussels based non-profit organization Les Petits Riens , which provides social reinsertion via the collecting and selling of second-hand clothes and used furniture. http://www.alainberteau.com Related posts: ShopStyle Living Take Off Your Clothes Zilka Clothes Hangers ©2009 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | 1 comment Sponsored Topics: Recycling – Environment – Non-profit organization – Business – Waste Management
