Bubble Chandelier Made from Post-Consumer PET Bottles

Souda , a new NYC-based product design company, created a stunning chandelier from post-consumer PET bottles. The bottles were collected by homeless individuals in an effort to raise money for the non-profit SURE WE CAN, which runs the only homeless-friendly can redemption center in the NYC area. After collection, the bottles were brought to Souda’s studio to be cleaned, cut and riveted together to create a dome-like lighting fixture using upwards of 60 upcycled bottles.

Gorgeous Spaces: A Beverly Hills Housewife

If you watched the premiere of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this week, then you likely saw the tour of housewife Lisa Vanderpump’s new home. Although it leans to more traditional/transitional styles than modern, I think it’s still appropriate to share here. Because it’s absolutely beautiful!

I don’t know if I’m more envious of her unbelievable closet or her pink chair at the otherwise white dining table. I guess it would be the closet, because I can always pick myself up a pink chair of my own!

You can view the full tour of her home here – there are 32 photos of it, with tons of mirrored furniture throughout – my dream come true! Most of the home is bright and white, but there are several rooms with dark wood floors that provide the perfect contrast. And the outdoor space – forget it!

Which room is your favorite in this gorgeous home?

Y’A PAS LE FEU AU LAC Wooden Home Decor

French design collective Y’A PAS LE FEU AU LAC began as a collaboration between designer FX Balléry and “tabletiers turners” Marie and Gregory Bodel where both sides brought their expertise to the table (quite literally). The resulting wood-based collection designed by a select group of handpicked designers around the world, is full of contemporary objects and housewares that are not only fun, they are completely useful. LES MONTGOLFIÈRES by FX Balléry (above) PERRETTE by FX Balléry The company’s name comes from a French expression meaning “no need to rush” and the products reflect that with the suggestion to focus on the enjoyment and to “contemplate your environment and to share with friends.” Available for purchase through neo-utility . Metallic Pillows

Being that a Christmas song just came on the overheard radio in a store I was in, I guess it’s time to admit that the holidays are near. Only about 7.5 weeks, is that right? I don’t mind that the holidays are coming, I’m just not looking forward to the cold weather. And shopping. What are your thoughts on the fast-approaching holiday season?

Luckily, West Elm has some fabulous and affordable metallic pillows that can coordinate with your decor for the holidays and then camp out and shine bright for the rest of the year. I’m loving the way the silver and gold reflect off the candle holders and other metallic accessories in both of the rooms above. I had been avoiding looking at any West Elm catalogs or visiting their website because I knew I’d find 109 things that I need to buy. These three pillows are going on that list!

Have you started getting your decorations ready or are you in holiday denial??

Twist-Grille Stool by Yen Hao Chen and Hui-Ying Lu

The fourth piece in the twisted grille series, this stool by Yen Hao Chen and Hui-Ying Lu use twisted metal that is reminiscent of the traditional Taiwanese window grill. The legs of the stool are composed of three triangular elements, and the twisting of the metal adds structural strength to the piece. I like the way that the metal resembles falling ribbons. Love This Look: Embossed Ceiling Tiles

Tile on the floor is admittedly not one of my absolute faves, but tile on the ceiling – why not?!

In the kitchen above, silver embossed ceiling tiles separate the kitchen area from the connected room – which I’m assuming is a dining area of some sort. The kitchen is not that spacious in size, so the ceiling tiles give it a personality of its own, separate from the rest of the home. Plus, it coordinates nicely with the appliances, island counter top and other accents throughout the kitchen.

What do you think of these ceiling tiles? Do you love this look or would you prefer a different look on your ceiling?

Lisa Congdon Designs Wallpaper for Hygge & West

San Francisco-based illustrator and artist Lisa Congdon  has created a new line of wallpaper for Hygge & West . The triangles pattern is my personal favorite. Lisa also has an awesome blog , if you don’t know about it – go read it here . I’ve been a long-time fan of Lisa’s work , but as of late, I feel like she’s really been hitting it (extra far) out of the park

PROOFF #006 SideSeat Desk, Chair and Storage in One

PROOFF recently launched the #006 SideSeat that was designed by the Netherlands-based duo Studio Makkink & Bey . It’s the latest item they’ve released that begs its users to be “flexible with their working space.” The multifunctional design is not just a chair, it also features a desk and storage. The compact workstation resembles those all-in-one desks you might remember from high school, but this one has much more style. The seat swivels with you so you can use it as a full-on workspace with your laptop in front of you or sit so that you can jot things down with the tabletop to your right side

FOLDONE Table by Novae Architecture

Italian firm Novae Architecture churns out a variety of design including both architecture and furniture, with their latest being the FOLDONE Table. The table appears to be a series of folds from one continuous piece of steel, which creates functional areas capable of storing your things. The open, faceted piece not only looks good, but the void creates an overall lightness to the design. Leave it empty or fill it with books or other items you want close by.
