New Split Series Tables from Axel Yberg

Axel Yberg has just completed a new line of tables called Split in his brand new collection of limited edition small lot pieces available at akke780.com . The set of tables is made from finished edge black walnut and square stock steel in a woven pattern that reminds me of a bench and also a bit like a maze. I like the playfulness here between the two materials and the modern, clean lines.

Refinished and Reloved Furniture by Revitalized Artistry

Christopher White of Revitalized Artistry is currently in school but on the side he specializes in taking old mid-century furniture and giving it a second chance. I love the stain and color choices that he’s used for these pieces. Can you believe those are the original geometric pulls? Product Pick: Eden Coffee Table

It was absolutely love at first sight for me when I saw the beautiful Eden Coffee Table. What’s not to love about it? Low profile, full of texture and a glamorous metallic finish – I’ll take it!

The Eden is offered as a set of two center tables and in a side table as well, with many finish options also offered. The structure of it is made from mahogany and covered with polished brass, and then the top is completely engraved to resemble a tree. This modern coffee table is made by Boca do Lobo.

What do you think of this coffee table??

Whiteboard desk

Materials: PERSONLIG kitchen tabletop & Vika Moliden stands Description: As I’€™m an avid fan of ‘€œpost your desk topics / workspace€ forum threads’, I thought it might be nice to share the IKEA hack in use in my own workspace. Last year I decided to refurbish my home office, to create a space that enables me to do my work in the most optimum way and of course that is pleasing to the eye. The first thing that came to mind was a whiteboard, I bought a really big one. However its 5 to 6 feet away from my desk and I realized I didn’t use it enough due to ‘€œdistance’. Sitting behind the desk while on the phone or just using my computer I found myself scribbling on pieces of paper instead of getting out of my chair and walk over to the whiteboard

Teluria Candelabra by Note Design Studio for Klong

The Teluria candelabra is modeled after the Tellurion, which is an apparatus that shows the movement of the earth, moon, and sun, and “visualizes the causes of night and day, solar and lunar eclipses and the phases of the Moon.” Designed by Note Design Studio for Klong , the candelabra with its futuristic curves has five rotating arms that hold a tea light candle at the end of one side. The opposite sides feature mini spheres that balance out the overall design. The shiny surfaces of the 12 orbs reflect the flames, causing the light to bounce around the space it’s placed in.

Blue & Beautiful

I am absolutely drooling over this amazingly gorgeous bedroom. At first, it was just the headboard that lured me in. But take a look at the details – from the studded walls to the dark mirrored nightstands to that lovely little nook in the corner.

I just had to look again – I forgot about the wallpaper above the studded panels, the amazing chandelier, the peacock blue dresser with the bright art.

Anyway, this bedroom is from the California Home and Design’s 2012 Small Space, Big Style LA Showcase. The space was designed by a group of seven designers, each with their own designated areas. The bedroom that we are oogling over was designed by Brian Patrick Flynn.

What is your favorite part of this beautiful blue bedroom?

The Easiest DIY Concrete Planter Ever

A few months ago, our lamp posts looked like this: As you can see, not so nice. In fact, I called them “ The Saddest Lamp Posts on the Block .” We didn’t have much budget to do anything fancy, but we knew we couldn’t continue looking at those sad, half-falling apart brick structures any longer. We discovered these great 16″x16″ patio pavers at our local home improvement store and got the keen idea to stand them on edge together to create a concrete planter.

Your Couch as a Blank Canvas by Annebet Philips

My Couch, My Canvas is a project by Annebet Philips that’s essentially a slipcover that you can drape on top of any couch. It’s exaggerated lines make it seem like a cartoon. Annebet has different patterns and fabrics planned for the cover, but I think it would be really cool to see what artistic and designy customers could create with this “blank canvas.” Share This: Twitter | Facebook | Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook

Buchi Brand Wooden Toys for Children

Japanese wooden industry Sakai Sangyo co., Ltd has launched a new brand called Buchi , which is a play on the word “fuchi,” meaning “rim” in Japanese. The “rims” of each toy are painted in a playful color by local craftsmen. The toys are all wooden, encouraging education about the role of trees and forests in making objects in our lives as well as educating about sustainable forestry. Designed by Tokyo-based designer Fumie Shibata, the current collection consists of toy cars, a car-shaped toybox, a chair, dominoes, and a stackable puzzle.
