Sitting on Air: Dome Stool by Toer

Toer has released Dome , a metal and wood stool that gives the impression you’re sitting on air! Using 80 carved steel rods that spring out of the wooden stool base, creates a geometric structure reminiscent of structures used in architecture, like the Pantheon. Therefore, this metal shape looks light and airy but has a ton of strength behind it. Its wood base is constructed from beech, which is a nice contrast to the steel. Millipede by Michael Samoriz

Futuristic organism or chair? Millipede is a stool/chair created by Michael Samoriz of Umbra Design that’s kind of jellyfish-like. He explains that it’s a “symbiosis of cyberpunk and bionics” and inspired by the look of “Dron” guardians from The Matrix trilogy. This Not A Lamp Stool by Florian Kallus

German designer Florian Kallus plays tricks with our minds by creating this ash wood stool that wants to look something it’s not: a lamp. If that’s not enough, it can also function as a coffee table if the user chooses. http://www.floriankallus.de
