Swedish furniture and product designer Ola Giertz ‘s latest project is called Bordus , a coffee table with some seriously aerodynamic lines. Inspired by angular Stealth fighter jets, the complex angles give the table a twisted look.

Swedish furniture and product designer Ola Giertz created the Thread Bench , which looks like metal easily bent and twisted into the finished shape. In actuality, the bars of metal are manually bent by both cold and warm forging, a much more labor-intensive process. Watch this: Inspired by a child’s playful outlook at the world, Giertz wanted an asymmetrical, “lighthearted style” to reflect that and asked the question, “Why does everything have to be so perfect and tidy looking?” The bench appears chaotic, opposite of most work found in furniture design, but still has a sense of playfulness. Thread Bench Made from Bent Metal by Ola Giertz

Swedish design studio Form Us With Love and Spanish stone company Cosentino Group collaborated on the Silestone Slab Vases that were presented at Stockholm Design Week’s Form Us With Friends exhibition. The purpose behind the collaboration was to break away from typical Silestone that comes in the form of a slab and instead look at the material in a whole new way. The watertight vases consist of Silestone rings that slip over a 16-inch tall metal stand. The rings are cut into various sizes, colors, and finishes giving the vase a unique look depending on how they are stacked. The look of the vase can change at anytime just by changing how the rings are assembled

Inspired the natural funghi in our environment, Swedish design company Note Design Studio created the Dual Sphere Lighting. With the inspiration taken from the notion that the funghi peeks out from “the dark undergrowth like small candles.”

Thus, the glass sphere of the lamp hovers over the wooden base. They are designed for low-energy bulbs, so the glass spheres are the same size as the wooden base. There are two sizes available – small and large. The larger lamps have a glass sphere made from hand-blown glass. The base is made from natural wood.

Filt is the newest creation from Urbancase , a 100% cotton Swedish army surplus hospital blanket. Filt means blanket in Swedish. It is lightweight, soft with an open weave. The embroidered image of blood spatter is symbolic of the original purpose of the blanket
