Pia Wüstenberg will be showing her Stacking Vessels at the London Design Festival later this month. Made of three different types of material, these vases are a nice harmony of color and texture. I especially like the unfinished look of the wooden tops. Raining Lights, a rug created by SAHRAI with Swarovski Elements, showed exclusively during the last Salone del Mobile in Milan. Featuring 20,000 of the finest Swarovski Elements, Raining Lights is the first in a collection called the Capsule Collection by SAHRAI. Adding the texture and sparkle to the silk rug, the “rain” of elements is concentrated on one side of the rug and gradually thins out toward the opposite side. Digested Urbanism is a new project by David Keller in which he has covered five copper vases with pulp collected from various places in the city of Jerusalem. The gritty texture of the pulp contrasts perfectly with the shiny copper — as David explains it’s “a hard dissonance, just like the complexity of the city of Jerusalem.” Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook ! © 2011 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook
