We don’t do gift guides here on Design Milk because everyone does them. We like to be different. Last year, we did staff wishlists and once again we thought it would be fun to continue this new tradition and ask each current contributor what was on their wishlist this holiday season — realistic or pipe dream. So, for next 2 weeks we’ll be featuring staff wishlists

The Shuffle Table , designed by Norwegian Mia Hamborg for &Tradition is made of different colored and shaped wood components that can be arranged and rearranged like a child’s toy. You choose how your table looks based on your own creative arrangement. The table is lacquered MDF components on a turned soap-treated oak stand. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | 1 comment | Tweet This | Share on Facebook

While this Atlas may not be your tradition book of maps, it provides the perfect display area for them! Made completely from tempered glass, the Atlas is designed by Danny Lane for Fiam, a furniture company based out of Italy.
The table top is made from a single piece of tempered glass that gracefully swoops in the center. The eye-catching legs of the Atlas table are 19 sections of hand-carved glass that is glued onto each other. The Atlas is available in several sizes, in rectangular and square shapes, and can be used in many ways: as a desk, a coffee table or dining table.
Where would you use the Atlas table?

You may have seen something like this before for wine, Out of Work (OOW) is a product specifically for you social beer drinkers. The idea was born when Barcelona-based designers Giovanna de Ávila and Joan Sunyol joined forces to create this design. Used to the Spanish tradition of “tapeo” (that’s the Spanish word for going to snack bars), they found that it was very uncomfortable to be standing at the same time with the dish and the glass in each hand. OOW holds the beer glass allowing you to carry both dish and glass with just one hand

In ancient Greek times, events were depicted on the sides of bowls and vases. Somehow this tradition was lost and Lara de Greef brings back this tradition with her Olympic Gold bowls. But, instead of major events, Lara depicts the mundane, such as dressing and undressing, getting into or out one’s shoes, and sweeping the floor. http://www.laradegreef.nl
