Since the weather isn’t doing much to satisfy our warm weather cravings, we’ll have to rely on these fun and festive Beach Ball Shades from TOBYhouse. Aren’t they bright and cool?
Each modern pendant light is made from a real inflatable beach ball that has been rendered solid on the inside to be a hard surface with a smooth white finish. Each lamp is made to order.
I can see them in a sleek modern beach house with a whimsical vibe, or in a funky restaurant by the shore. A chic hair salon or retail could definitely rock these lamps in their decor.
What do you think of these Beach Ball Shades – where do you see them?

This past weekend was spent with my fiance and his family up in Lake George, NY. The view is unbelievable and the weather was absolutely gorgeous – my sunburned face can attest to that!
Anyway, while we were cruising on the jetskis checking out the gorgeous houses, I started thinking about my dream lake house and how it would be much more modern than a lot of the houses up there. While some of them are more contemporary, I think most of the houses up there are more traditional and mountain-looking. [If that makes sense!]
Like the modern lake houses above, I would want a lake house with lots of windows so that the spectacular view that comes with living on a lake could be seen from any room from any angle. I also love when the architecture provides plenty of sitting space for everyone’s viewing pleasure. There’s something wonderful about staring out onto a lake all day!
Do you ever dream about living on water? What would your dream house there look like?

Although the weather hasn’t been the warmest this week in NJ [lots of rain] – hopefully the upcoming holiday weekend will bring some scorchers. Along with the hotness comes the craving for something cool and refreshing – like the minty freshness above.
Have you taken part in the mint trend? I bought myself a mint sweater for Spring a few months back and it definitely added some freshness to my wardrobe. It’s just such a creamy yet refreshing color. I certainly wouldn’t mind a spunky mint kitchen like the one above – how about you?
What are your current mint cravings? [This post has made me want some mint chocolate chip ice cream, that's for sure!]

With Memorial Day weekend just a few days away, warm weather and hanging out outdoors is on my mind. We have this horrible green canopy thing in our backyard that looks like it was built in the 70s and I’m dying to dress it up. While plans of tearing it out and replacing it with something more modern is in the [hopefully near] future, until then I’m planning to adorn it with some fun outdoor string lights to add a nicer look to it. If you happen to be on a similar search, I’ve rounded up six different outdoor string lights to help us all out!
Do you have outdoor string lights in your backyard? What type of lights are your faves?

Happy First Day of Winter!
How is the weather in your neck of the woods – is it winter-like? It’s been fairly unseasonable in North Jersey the past few days – with warm temperatures and thunderstorms filling the air!
Even still, today marks the first day of winter – the Winter Solstice – so our days won’t be as dark as early as they have been. And even though it’s been warm lately, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t prepare for the cold to come – which is exactly what I’m doing with these cozy winter whites.
These whites have me thinking of cozy beds with knitted comforters and warm faux furs. Can you see yourself running down that bright white hallway and jumping into the coziness?
If you’re not cuddling under the faux fur, then you better stay warm and cozy with some bright white flowers surround by it. I don’t know about you, but I certainly wouldn’t mind staring at that flower arrangement all day. Especially if a huge white feather tree was nearby. Forget Christmas – I’d leave that baby up all winter long!
With furs, feathers, cozy knits and bright whites on my mind – what’s making you think of winter?

Does cold weather have you craving cheesy, flaky, hearty comforting meals – or is it just me? Last night, I made mac and cheese, the night before that beef stew. I can’t get enough comfort food!
What is comfort food to you? As I mentioned above, to me it’s anything cheesy or creamy, or with flaky biscuits or bread. Or hearty – like noodles, beef, potatoes.
So, for this recipe radar, all of the recipes to keep on your radar are what I consider to me comfort foods. What would you add?
We’ve got: Chicken Fried Chicken / Stove Top Mac & Cheese / Cowboy Casserole / Chicken Pot Pie / Chicken and Dumplings / Beef Stroganoff
